Pinterest’s new app can let you create and share mood boards

Pinterest has launched a new iOS app called Shuffles, which is a collage-style social tool that allows users to build a digital mood board and communicate with others on the network. Shuffles is currently only accessible via invitation, however, you may request to be included in the app’s waitlist.

Users may store their material, build picture libraries of their pins, and browse in the usual Pinterest experience. The application includes photo editing capabilities such as Cut Out to isolate specific things in a shot, Collage to overlay photographs and mesh your ideas together, and Animate to apply visual effects to objects.

The app was developed by Pinterest’s TwoTwenty incubator, which was also responsible for the Pinterest TV live shopping initiative last autumn. Shuffles seem to be a logical creative offshoot for the app, allowing users to have greater influence over their ideas beyond merely making “concept pins.” Pinterest isn’t the only one experimenting with the idea recently. Adobe introduced its Canvas platform in October 2021 for individuals to share and interact on a mood board in its Creative Cloud suite — with the option to modify each other’s work.
