Twitter’s Tabbed Interface Takeover: For You Tab now Available on Desktop Web Browsers

Twitter’s “For You” tab, which first appeared on iOS devices earlier this week, is now making its way to desktop computer browsers. The new design removes the “sparkle” symbol, which formerly enabled you to switch between algorithmically created and reverse chronological feeds on the site.

After the update is available on your web browser, the For You tab is now the default view you see when you first visit Twitter. However, unlike Twitter’s redesigned iOS app, the desktop version does not seem to compel you to continue with the For You stream.

Twitter said on Friday that the new interface will be available for Android smartphones “soon.” Twitter launched a similar feature in 2022, only to drop it days later when a chorus of users argued that the previously designated Home feed should not be forced on them. Musk, on the other hand, announced towards the end of last year that Twitter will go forward with the shift.
