MG Motor continues to soar in the GCC’s top ten car manufacturer rankings, securing the 6th position with a record-breaking sales performance in 2022. The brand ended the year with a 4.7% market share and total sales of 57,506 units, a remarkable feat considering the intense competition from rising Chinese brands in the GCC market.
This success would not have been possible without the exceptional support from MG’s extensive dealer network and the brand’s aggressive expansion plans. The brand now has 49 showrooms in the region and plans to open six new showrooms in the first half of 2023, along with four new customer service facilities.
Since launching operations in the Middle East, MG has registered double-digit growth, with a 40% increase in sales in 2022. The brand remains one of the top six automotive brands in the region, leading to large increases in market share across the GCC.
MG’s British-born products, including the best-performing models MG5 and MGZS, continue to be well-received by customers. Tom Lee, Managing Director of MG Motor’s Middle East operations, notes the growing popularity and desire for the MG brand and the brand’s plans to expand into two new markets in the first three months of 2023.
