Ubisoft is launching a tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG) set in the Assassin’s Creed universe, and it’s coming to Kickstarter soon. This TTRPG will explore various settings and themes within the Assassin’s Creed world, and it includes a “test story” set in Feudal Japan in 1558, which may offer some insights into the upcoming game “Assassin’s Creed Red.”
While the TTRPG’s main focus won’t be on Japan, the inclusion of a story set in 1558 Feudal Japan is intriguing, especially considering the potential visual ties to “Codename Red,” which was teased back in 2022 during Ubisoft Forward.
It’s worth noting that the TTRPG might not strictly adhere to established lore, as evidenced by the inclusion of Mochizuki Chiyome as a playable Assassin, despite her being associated with the Templars in the mobile game “Assassin’s Creed Memories” from 2014.
The TTRPG will likely feature multiple stories, with another one set during World War II in Nazi-occupied France in 1942.
As for “Assassin’s Creed Red,” there is no official release date yet, but it’s rumored to potentially launch in late 2024 or 2025 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and possibly PC. Meanwhile, “Assassin’s Creed Mirage” is the next installment in the video game series, set to release on October 5 for various platforms.
