Volkswagen has taken a significant step with a completely reimagined menu structure for the infotainment system. Furthermore, the standard Digital Cockpit and optional augmented reality head-up display have undergone improvements, enriching the in-cabin experience.
As seen in the updated ID.3, the touch sliders for air conditioning and volume control now feature illumination, adding a touch of sophistication. In addition, the 2024 ID.4 and ID.5 sport a new multifunction steering wheel with revised operational logic. One notable shift in the interior layout is the relocation of the driving mode selector from the Digital Cockpit housing to the steering column switch, mirroring the setup found in the ID.7 sedan. This adjustment was made to create space for the larger infotainment display.
Volkswagen is also introducing an enhanced voice assistant named IDA. This updated assistant offers more precise responses to natural voice commands and provides new features, including cloud-based weather information, live scores for sporting events, and stock market prices.
It’s worth noting that all these advancements will also be making their way to the 2024 Volkswagen ID.4, set to hit the U.S. market early next year.
