Facebook has become an integral part of everyone’s lives due to the phenomenon called social networking. One can argue that the biggest thing to happen to social media and social networking is Facebook, and they would be right. What’s more is that the company has cemented its feet into the social scene further after the recent acquisitions of Instagram and WhatsApp, making it also one of the most rounded out platforms on the internet and a content creator’s paradise.
When you add a friend on Facebook, you inadvertently also start Following him/her. What this means is that whenever that user posts any content on Facebook, it pops up on your timeline. If you are not interested in the kind of content your friends put up, the best thing to do is unfollow them.
Unfollowing a user is not the same as unfriending him/her. When you unfollow a user, you stop seeing posts they publish on your timeline. You are still friends with them on the platform.
In this tutorial, we will show you how to unfollow a user on Facebook.
Step 1. Open the web browser on your PC/Laptop.
Step 2. In the URL bar, type in www.facebook.com.
Step 3. Sign in to your Facebook account.
Step 4. Search for the user you want to unfollow using the search bar.
Step 5. Click on the user profile from the search results.
Step 6. Hover over the ‘Following‘ button near the profile.
Step 7. Click on the ‘Unfollow‘ option to complete the operation.
You will now stop receiving and seeing posts from the unfollowed user on Facebook. You can always start following the user if you want to engage in their content a little more.
