Meaning – The term hung, refers to the condition of the computer, or other electronic devices just stop responding. This condition can be triggered in case of critical faults in the computer, or due to bugs that may have crept into the software package being used.
Sometimes, when a computer hangs, the display may turn off, while in some cases, the contents of the display are still visible, but nothing is responsive, making it look like a dummy display.
If a network connection has hung, none of the connection requests are entertained, and the connection just doesn’t work.
Example of usage – “She was stuck with an old computer, and when she tried to run the design software for a project, the computer stopped responding. After multiple attempts to get the computer to resume working, she was resigned to conclude that the computer was hung.”
