Meaning – The term off refers to the choice that appears on most software UI or tools, wherein the respective software or the tool in question, is turned off, when the user interacts with this option.
When referencing computercode or electricity, ON is represented as the number ‘1’, and OFF is by the number ‘0’. Combinations of these ones and zeros are what create binary code, which is what computers and other electronic devices use to communicate.
On also describes a state where a device, such as your computer or smartphone, has power and is functioning. Off is when it does not have power and cannot be operated.
Example of usage – “After working on the code for more than a month, the developer decided to take a break, and the first thing he did, was to turn off the computer and head outside for a walk.”
