Decryption

Meaning – The word decryption, refers to the process of converting the encrypted text, or the cipher text, into plain text. Usually, when some information is encrypted using the various cryptographic techniques, the person responsible for the encryption, also develops an encryption key, which is provided to the desired recipient along with the encrypted file.

The recipient is then supposed to use the key to convert this encrypted information, into plain text, where he/she can see the true message, rather tithe the string of jumbled letters and numbers that the encrypted version is showing.

People who do not receive the key, along with the encrypted file, cannot decrypt the file and are stuck with the encrypted or cipher text, that, on its own, makes no sense at all.

Example of usage“The employee was given the encrypted file, but the key was misplaced, so he could not decrypt the file and had to request the admin to generate the key again.”
