Meaning – The term people, refers to employees within an organization, who are not managers. Usually, when a group is formed for a particular project, there is a manager who oversees the operation, and then there are employees who are responsible for executing the instructions given to them by the manager. These employees are generally termed as people.
This term differentiates the manager from the rest of the employees within a particular group. Some may feel that this is discriminatory, but that is merely a myth.
Example of usage – “When she was assigned to be the manager for the high profile project, she picked twenty employees to work under her leadership. In a public forum, she would refer to the employees as people. So the conversation would go where she would say that she has twenty people working with her on the project.”
