Sony revealed the solid PlayStation Plus lineup for February, led by dystopian roller skating sim Rollerdrome.
There’s no single blockbuster, but a nice trio of games. The highlight is definitely Rollerdrome, which made our best games of 2022 list. Its stylish 70s comic book visuals and corporate greed satire pair with fantastic gameplay. Getting it free is a treat after it was full price last year.
We already knew the 4v4 online party shooter Foamstars was coming. It’s Square Enix’s take on Nintendo’s hit Splatoon formula, using foam instead of paint. As a brand new day one release, Foamstars is an exciting addition.
Steelrising also looks cool – it puts a steampunk twist on the Soulslike genre with an alternate history robotic French Revolution setting. The combat seems fun so far, though I haven’t played enough to see if Jules Verne time travels into it.
Fall Guys is getting a fun Ratchet & Clank avatar pack too. All three titles hit PS Plus on February 6 and remain until March 4.
Some games are leaving soon though, so add A Plague Tale: Requiem, Evil West, and Nobody Saves the World to your library by February 5.
The highlight is a 2 hour Spider-Man 2 trial for Premium/Deluxe members starting February 6. That beloved superhero sim is sure to be popular.
Overall, the February PS Plus lineup has something for everyone without a major tentpole release. But quality outweighs quantity, with the fantastic Rollerdrome leading the pack. After January’s big headliner Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, this offers a solid selection of lesser known gems worth checking out.
