A number of mid-range phones will begin to run on Qualcomm’s newest processor later this month. Among the companies using the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset are Redmi and Realme.
The chipset appears to give a significant improvement over the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, while it isn’t nearly as powerful as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. With speeds of up to 2.91GHz, Qualcomm claims the CPU will give a performance gain of more than 50%. According to the manufacturer, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 will also provide an increase in power efficiency of 13% while also doubling GPU performance. Additionally, according to Qualcomm, “on-device AI is integrated across the entire platform.”
