One of the most defining features of Android Wear OS is that it syncs almost every bit of data between the smartphone and your Android Wear smartwatch. This means apps, contacts and even pictures can be synced to your Android smartwatch and can be referenced at your leisure.
while contacts and apps sync directly, the photos require a few extra steps. Its not necessarily a complicated procedure, but since Google Photos is not really optimized for Wear devices just yet, we have to rely on some third-party apps to do the job.
In this tutorial, we will show you how to sync pictures with Google Wear OS watches.
Disclaimer – Before we start off with this tutorial, please make sure you are 100% sure about using third-party apps. The app shown here is trustworthy, but if you are not sure, we suggest that you wait for an official launch from Google. Now, with that out of the way, let’s get started.
Step 1. Open the Play Store app on your Android Wear smartwatch.
Step 2. Search for the ‘Anytime Gallery‘ app and download it.
Step 3. Now, open the Play Store app on your Android smartphone.
Step 4. Download and Install the same ‘Anytime Gallery‘ app on your smartphone.
Step 5. Now, open the Anytime Gallery app on your smartphone.
Step 6. Grant permission to the app to access your photos.
Step 7. You will now see the various picture folders on the home screen.
Step 8. Select the folder you want to add to your watch.
Step 9. Tap on the ‘Add to Watch‘ option.
Step 10. Tap on the ‘Sync‘ button to sync the photos to your smartwatch.
Step 11. You will now see the pictures synced to your Android Wear smartwatch.
The app also allows you to remove photos from your watch. The process id the same but this time, you will have to tap on the ‘Remove from watch’ option.
The Anytime Gallery app allows you to transfer up to 20 images to your smartwatch for free. Once that is exhausted, you can opt for a premium package that allows unlimited photo transfer.
