How to empty the trash on Android

When it comes to operating systems, users have come to expect absolutely everything under the sun, and thanks to advancements in technology, platforms like Android are actually proving successful in their updates and enhancements. One of the features that the user wanted to be the trash can. On the PC, the trash can, or the Recycle Bin is where all your deleted content goes. There is no constraint on what you can delete so you will see a variety of different items of different formats in your computer’s Recycle Bin.

However, it’s not so simple to implement on a mobile operating system, which is why Android has introduced dedicated Trash Can feature in their apps. So apps like Google Drive, Google Photos, Gmail, etc have their own stand-alone trash cans. Here, the concept is a lot more streamlined as the trash can of the particular app only contains items that you have deleted from that app, so you can easily decide what you want to clear and what you want to restore.

In this tutorial, we will show you how to empty the trash on Android. We will use the Google Photos apps as a reference, but the procedure for other Google apps is identical.
