  3. Ghostbusters Ghostbusters set a new genre of movies when it comes on screen in 1984. Everyone loved the idea of ghosts, but when you got ghosts mixed with Sci-Fi, it was a whole other universe waiting to be explored. The story of Robocop is simple yet impactful.   20. The Matrix Trilogy One of the most cult sci-fi movie series is the Matrix Trilogy. Here again, the ideas and graphics are clearly way ahead of their time and the plot itself will keep you engaged enough to go on a 7-hour binge. We follow the computer hacker Neo, who comes into contact with rebels who show him the real nature of our reality, and how it is being manipulated by a group called the controllers. After discovering a mysterious artifact buried beneath the Lunar surface, mankind sets off on a quest to find its origins with help from intelligent supercomputer H.A.L. 9000. If you are watching this in 2020, just observe the visuals and imagination, and then shock yourself further by seeing the year in which it was released.
