Hyundai has certainly made a bold statement at this year’s SEMA Show with the striking Kona Jayde Concept. This crossover not only stands out for its eye-catching appearance but is also equipped with a range of accessories that make it a showstopper.
Despite the name “Jayde,” Hyundai clarifies that the wrap adorning the body isn’t actually jade in color; instead, it’s a vibrant robin’s egg blue. To complement this bright hue, Hyundai has incorporated black accents on the bumpers, fender cladding, and window trim, adding a touch of contrast. Air Design, a trusted contributor to the world of automotive aesthetics, has enhanced the exterior with an aggressive front lip, side sills featuring metallic inserts, and a sleek rear spoiler. The Kona Jayde rides on custom one-piece HRE 520M wheels finished in a brushed black shade.
In addition to its remarkable appearance, this crossover also boasts practical features. It comes equipped with a Thule Pulse Alpine cargo box on the roof, finished in glossy black. For the adventure enthusiasts, a Thule Epos bike rack attaches to the rear hitch, and a Vintage Electric Rally e-bike with a matching robin’s egg blue frame is securely mounted at the back. Hyundai envisions this bicycle as a “last-mile solution,” allowing users to park their vehicle and conveniently complete the final leg of their journey on two wheels.
While the Jayde retains its mechanical characteristics, a set of Eibach lowering springs has been added to lower the ride height by 2.0 inches, enhancing its sporty stance.
Inside, the Kona Jayde Concept boasts a custom cabin with Recaro Sportster CS seats that feature plaid center sections, incorporating the robin’s egg blue hue from the exterior. The seat bolsters are adorned in white leather, adding a touch of luxury. What makes this vehicle even more convenient for people on the go is the inclusion of a Scosche PowerUp 32K portable charger, equipped with a 116.8-watt-hour battery, and an InVert 200 DC-to-AC adapter with three outlets, ensuring that you can stay charged and connected wherever your journey takes you.
The Kona Jayde Concept is part of the second-generation Hyundai Kona lineup, which made its debut for the 2024 model year in the United States. This latest generation offers a variety of engine options, including a 147-horsepower 2.0-liter and a 195-horsepower turbocharged 1.6-liter mill. There’s also an Electric variant with a 65.4-kWh battery, providing an impressive 260 miles of EPA-estimated range. For those seeking a more compact battery, a 48.6-kWh pack is also available, making the Kona lineup quite versatile and suitable for a wide range of drivers.
