Double Click

Meaning – The term ‘double click’ refers to the action in which the user clicks on an element on the desktop, twice, using a pointing device, such as a mouse or a joystick, to trigger a certain action, depending on the element.

There are many different elements found on the graphical user interface of an operating system, and each of these elements is designed to perform a certain action if the user interacts with them in a certain way. The most common action in the interaction process is a double click.

The double click is most commonly used to start an application, or open a folder or a file.

Example of usage“She installed the new software on her computer, and then navigated to the install folder and double clicked on the executable file to start the software on the PC.”
