YouTube Shorts may soon feature its very own VoiceOver feature

When YouTube launched its Shorts feature to creators, it was done with a single purpose of taking the fight to ByteDance’s TikTok. The market is now full of short video creation platforms and while it is true that the YouTube brand does attract a more quality creator network, the platform has not received an upgrade for a long time.

Recently, some of the developers who received the source code for testing out Shorts, reported that they saw the addition of a VoiceOver feature that is being planned as part of a much-awaited upgrade for the Shorts platform. If this is true, creators on YouTube will soon be able to record their own audio and seamlessly add it to their Shorts video without having to use a third-party video editor.

YouTube has not officially clarified this yet, which means that the developers were either bluffing, or the feature is undergoing a thorough internal test. For now, all we can do is speculate and hope for an official announcement soon.
