This is how you can record the screen on the Mac

A common scenario is that when creating a tutorial or other type of content that requires the usage of your Mac, it is necessary to video yourself performing certain tasks on the PC so that your visitors or students can follow along. Thanks to the built-in screen recorder on the Mac, you can not only record the screen but also capture audio, allowing you to speak while simultaneously recording your actions on the Mac, which is a great feature.

In this tutorial, we will show you how to record the screen on the Mac.

Step 1. Open up your Mac/MacBook and unlock it.

Step 2. Open the content that you want to start recording on the Mac.

Step 3. On the Mac keyboard, press the ‘CMD+SHIFT+5‘ keys simultaneously to see a menu.

Step 4. In the menu, you can choose whether you want to record the whole screen or a part of the screen that you can select using the transform window.

Step 5. If you want to enable the audio recording feature, click on the ‘Options’ button.

Step 6. Under the microphone option, select the default microphone that is displayed.

Step 7. Press the record button once you have made your choice, and then start recording your content.

Once you have completed the recording session, click on the ‘Stop’ option located in the top menu bar to bring the session to a close. After that, you can edit the clip, save it, and even upload it to YouTube or other platforms if that is what you prefer.

Now, there are certain third-party programmes that allow you to record your screen, but we strongly advise you to avoid using these apps because you never know what information they will extract from the video. Apple’s data protection policies are extremely strong, and as a result, your work will be protected while stored on the device.
