A Hogwarts Legacy fan has created a mod that enables players to take on the role of fan favourite Cedric Diggory. The game’s protagonist has already been the subject of several modifications, with another Hogwarts Legacy version enabling players to take on the role of Voldemort.
Modders are still figuring out what the newest Wizarding World title has to offer. Several modifications have embraced the comedic aspect of modding, with one Hogwarts Legacy update adding a Shrek broom for players to sail through Hogwarts on. These sorts of modifications aren’t for everyone, but as modders get more experienced with the game, maybe some more serious mods with brand-new material for people to explore emerged.
AreKCrisiS, the modder who posted it on Nexus Mods, allows players to play as one of two versions of the character. The first is Cedric Diggory from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, while the second is an adult version that looks like an older Robert Pattinson. The modder did an excellent job, with a strong similarity to Pattinson in both appearances. Cedric Diggory has already been the subject of a few modifications for the game due to his popularity. One horrific Hogwarts Legacy hack even included a skeletal Cedric Diggory “broom” for players to fly about on.
Since Hogwarts Legacy is set in the late 1800s, this mod is not lore-friendly. The mod also lacks Robert Pattinson’s voice and is solely visual. Although this may be a deal breaker for some gamers, many will just be pleased to be able to play as Cedric Diggory for the first time. The user claims to be working on adding Tom Riddle and Hermione Granger’s faces to the game in the mod’s comments, so there’s plenty more to come for vintage Harry Potter lovers.
Early indications for the Hogwarts Legacy modding scene are promising. Even at this early stage, the game has millions of users, therefore the demand for modifications is incredibly great. On the official front, developer Avalanche Software has yet to declare its intentions for the game’s future. The official line is that no DLC for Hogwarts Legacy is planned, although given the game’s continuous financial success, this might change at any moment. Any word on the game’s future is expected to come in the next months, while the game remains well-publicised.
