New Trailer for The Day Before MMO Stirs Up Controversy and Skepticism Among Fans
The Day Before has received a stunning clip showcasing its ray tracing capabilities. Still, just two months before the highly anticipated survival MMO’s release, many are worried about the game’s ability to deliver on its promise.
The new trailer is available for viewing below. The “4K RTX On Gameplay Reveal” teaser, which debuted as part of graphics card manufacturer Nvidia’s CES 2023 exhibit, does, as promised, show showcase The Day Before’s ray-tracing capabilities, with amazing shadows, lighting, and reflections throughout. But there isn’t much of the ‘gameplay’ stuff, which has worried fans in the run-up to the game’s March 1 release date.
Early in 2021, a five-minute gameplay trailer for The Day Before, which borrowed from the worst of badly spoken E3-style co-op demonstrations, went viral owing to its fantastic blend of The Division-style team vs team combat and a Last of Us-style realistic post-apocalyptic atmosphere. With over 200,000 followers, it immediately became one of the most-wish-listed titles on Steam.
The game’s release date was pushed back to March 2023 when the developers switched to Unreal Engine 5. Fntastic, the developer, stated a few months after the delay that it was searching for “volunteers” to help with development.
