Lamborghini’s New Plug-In Hybrid Supercar Boasts a Range of Six Miles in Electric-Only Mode

Italian car manufacturer, Lamborghini, has unveiled its first-ever plug-in hybrid supercar, the Lamborghini Revuelto. The luxury car boasts a powerful combustion engine and an electric motor. While the supercar isn’t exactly designed for eco-friendliness, the electric motor can be used for short distances of up to 6.2 miles on a single charge. The combustion engine can charge the 3.8kWh battery in just six minutes using regenerative braking on the front wheels.

The car’s power output is a whopping 814 horsepower at 9,250 rpm. It is lightweight, tipping the scales at just 480 pounds. The car’s exterior design is heavily influenced by aerospace engineering, with a multitude of air intake ducts located throughout to increase airflow for the engine. The Lamborghini Revuelto also features interior tech-forward components, such as a 12.3-inch digital cockpit and an advanced driver-assist system.

Lamborghini’s parent company, Volkswagen, plans to release an all-electric luxury vehicle by 2030. Meanwhile, the Italian automaker will continue producing combustion engines into the 2030s that run on synthetic fuel. The Lamborghini Revuelto is set to be released later this year with a price tag of $542,165.
