TikTok is a fast-growing social video sharing app. Users can upload 15/60 second videos showcasing their creativity and imagination in a distilled manner. The best part about TikTok is that you have the ability to make your videos more catchy using filters and sound effects, including licensed tracks from popular movies.
Initially, TikTok allowed users to upload their own music tracks along with their videos, but due to licensing and copyright issues, that feature was taken down, and instead, a music library was placed right inside TikTok giving users access to a host of trending songs and sound effects.
So what do you do if you have a custom soundtrack for your video?
In this tutorial, we will tell you how you can use a neat workaround to bring in your own sound effects with your videos.
Table of Contents
Open the TikTok app on your device (iOS and Android Supported).
Tap on the ‘+‘ button to start a new video.
Tap on the record button to start recording your video.
Here, ensure that you are playing the soundtrack/ sound effect that you want, in the background.
Once done, tap on the ‘tick‘ button to head into the video settings.
Here, add filters to the video, but DO NOT add another soundtrack or sound.
Tap on Next.
Enter a catchy description for your video, add in the hashtags and tap the ‘post‘ button.
Your video. will now be uploaded with your custom music playing in the background.
Alternatively, you can pre-record your video, edit it with a professional video editor and place the sound you want in the video, and publish that on TikTok.
