Photoshop is a graphic design tool that is part of Adobe’s Creative Cloud Suite of graphic design apps. It enables designers to create high-quality graphics for clients, self-use, and promotional purposes. For years, Photoshop has been the go-to software for graphic design, and there is currently no app that can stand toe to. toe with the creative cloud suite, especially Photoshop.
When you install Photoshop on your system (Windows or Mac), it creates something called a ‘Scratch Disk‘. According to the definition, a scratch disk is a memory space reserved by Photoshop to store temporary files.
Many times, Photoshop fails to open because the Scratch Disk is out of space, and there have been users who have gone to drastic lengths to fix this error.
In this tutorial, we will show you how you can easily clear the scratch disk on Photoshop.
Step 1. Open the Photoshop app on your Desktop/Laptop.
Step 2. Open the Preferences, by heading to. Edit on Windows or Clicking the ‘Photoshop‘ button on a Mac.
Step 3. In the Preferences, click on the ‘Performance‘ tab.
Step 4. In the ‘Performance.’ window, click on the ‘Scratch Disks‘ tab.
Step 5. Click on the Tick box to remove the tick. This will turn off the Scratch Disk.
Now restart the Photoshop app. The Scratch Disk will be cleared.
