Meaning – The term display panel, refers to a vertical surface on which information is displayed. Earlier, displays and display panels used the cathode ray tube design, but the downside was that they were very bulky and could not be used for public view.
Today, the display panels use the flat panel technology, making them slimmer, and easy to mount in public locations. The resolution on the flat display panels is much better than the ones that used the CRT technology.
When it comes to the flat display panels, there are two kinds of technologies -LCD and LED. The newer LED technology has also enabled companies to explore foldable or bendable displays, making them much more versatile and easy to mound around curved surfaces as well.
Example of usage – “His company was tasked with installing curved display panels around the top of the building to make a carousel effect.”
