Evil West Shows Off Online Co-Op Gameplay

Flying Wild Hog has revealed that their forthcoming third-person shooter Evil West will have an online co-op option. The expansion to the game was introduced in a YouTube clip in which lead producer Tomasz Gop described the game mode. Focus Entertainment will release Evil West later this month.

Evil West is a third-person action-adventure set in an alternative version of the wild west. Instead of the traditional cowboy theme, players will engage in a struggle between vampire hunters and vampires – as well as a variety of other bad monsters. The single-player narrative follows Jesse Rentier, one of the few vampire hunters, as he battles otherworldly adversaries attempting to take over the American West.

Gop claims that the cooperative multiplayer experience will be similar to what Flying Wild Hog has previously disclosed about Evil West’s gameplay. Each of the two players will take on the role of Jesse Rentier from the single-player campaign. This implies that both players have access to all of Jesse’s powers, weapons, and talents. The co-op feature will be limited to two players, with only one of them progressing toward the objective.

Flying Wild Hog intended to make the co-op experience as simple as possible, which might be related to Evil West’s delayed release. The online co-op experience is basically a two-player single-player campaign. Sharing the campaign with a buddy is a lovely touch, however, it’s worth noting that only the host will advance in the tale. This implies that awards and accomplishments will only be unlocked for the host, however, no formal statement has been provided.

While it is theoretically the same campaign and advancement, there are several variations. The most significant modifications are the number, hardness, and mix of adversaries, which make it more difficult and ideal for two players instead of one. The studio has also uploaded a couple of minutes of co-op gameplay, which shows the two Jesses taking on packs of werewolves, glaive-wielding creatures, and tag-teaming bosses, similar to the horror action game Darkwatch.

Evil West was initially announced at the 2020 Game Awards when Flying Wild Hog presented the audience to the once-retired vampire hunter Jesse Rentier. Shadow Warrior’s creator revealed last month that the game has gone gold, a few months before its release.

Evil West will be available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on November 22.
