Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the upcoming installment in the Assassin’s Creed series, does not currently have plans for DLC or extensive post-launch content, according to the game’s creative director, Stéphane Boudon. This information was shared during a recent Reddit AMA with fans.
While Boudon’s statement leaves room for potential future DLC, it seems that the development team’s focus is on delivering a self-contained experience for Mirage. The game is set in a single city and aims to pay homage to the earlier Assassin’s Creed games with a focus on action and stealth, rather than the more expansive RPG-style gameplay seen in recent entries.
While DLCs and expansions have been a staple of recent Assassin’s Creed titles, some players have found certain expansions to be too large and bloated. By not planning extensive post-launch content for Mirage, the development team may be able to keep the game more focused and polished.
Fans of the Assassin’s Creed series can look forward to other upcoming releases and announcements, including the open beta for Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade in August and rumors about Assassin’s Creed Red possibly releasing next year (2024).
