Days after unveiling the Pura 90s Series in Dubai, Huawei has put a price on it. The camera-focused flagship line is now open for pre-order in the UAE through Huawei’s official online store, starting at AED 3,199 — with early buyers thrown a selection of gifts to sweeten the wait.
That entry figure is the real story here. Huawei is pitching the Pura 90s as premium hardware at a price that undercuts the AED 4,000-plus band where most flagship rivals sit, a deliberate move to widen the audience for a series it markets under the tagline “Now is Your Moment.”
A camera-led pitch
Photography is where Huawei is spending its marketing budget. The top-tier Pura 90s Pro Max leads with a 200MP Ultra Large Sensor telephoto camera and chip-level 200MP RAW real-time processing that Huawei says enables crisp 20x telephoto video. A CIPA 7.0 stabilisation system is meant to keep handheld long-range shots steady, while an upgraded True-to-Colour Camera 2.0 claims a 43% jump in colour accuracy and a 34% wider gamut.
The software side leans on AI. New tools include AI Composition for real-time framing guidance, AI De-glare for stripping reflections off glass, and AI Move, which lets users isolate or duplicate elements in a shot while the phone reconstructs the background. The series also introduces Celia, a system-level AI assistant.
Beyond the cameras, the Pro Max carries anti-reflective, scratch-resistant Kunlun Glass that Huawei says cuts screen glare by up to 70%. A 6,000mAh battery powers the lineup, with 66W SuperCharge on the Pro and 100W on the Pro Max. Design-wise, Huawei has gone flat-edged across the range, with the Pro Max offered in Blush Gold, Orange Ocean, Blaze Purple and Graphite Black — the Orange Ocean version adding what the company calls the industry’s first dual-tone gradient metal mid-frame.
The specs are undeniably ambitious, though the usual Huawei caveat applies: there’s no Google Mobile Services on board, so buyers lean on Huawei’s own app ecosystem. And “5.5G” connectivity headlines only matter where carriers actually support it — still a patchy picture in most markets. For camera-first buyers willing to work around the software gaps, the AED 3,199 starting price makes the Pura 90s one of the more aggressive flagship plays of the summer.
The HUAWEI Pura 90s Series is available for pre-order now in the UAE, with prices starting from AED 3,199 via Huawei’s official online store.
