Mall Together turns retail drudgery into four-player co-op, and it lands July 24

Stocking shelves is not most people’s idea of a good time. Somehow, PC gaming keeps proving otherwise — and Mall Together, a first-person shopping mall management sim, is betting it can do it with friends. The full game launches on Steam on July 24, 2026 at 2:00 PM CEST.

The pitch is straightforward: you own a small, unremarkable mall, and your job is to turn it into a sprawling retail empire. That means opening stores, hiring and training staff, negotiating with brands, wrangling deliveries and stock, setting prices, and keeping shoppers from walking out in disgust. There are 16 store types to run, each with its own logistics and staffing headaches.

The co-op hook

The part that separates Mall Together from the crowd is in the name. The game supports online co-op for up to four players, so a mall can be split between friends — one person running logistics in the back, another manning a till, a third arguing about markup on the sunglasses kiosk. Solo play is supported too, but the multiplayer angle is clearly where developer GrabTheGames thinks the word-of-mouth lives.

That instinct is well-founded. The first-person shopkeeping genre has been a quiet juggernaut on Steam since Supermarket Simulator and Retail Mogul showed that scanning barcodes and restocking crisps could hold an audience for hundreds of hours. Co-op versions of that loop have consistently outperformed their single-player counterparts, largely because the mundanity becomes comedy when someone else is watching you mess it up.

Why it matters

Mall Together’s ambition is a step up from its predecessors. A supermarket is one building with one inventory system. A mall is a portfolio — multiple store categories, cross-tenant foot traffic, employee automation, and progression systems layered on top. The design promises that players can eventually automate operations with staff and step back into a more managerial role, which is the genre’s usual answer to the mid-game grind.

Whether that scales cleanly is the open question. Games in this space often stumble on late-game pacing: once the systems are automated, the reason to keep playing thins out fast. Adding three other players to the same mall could paper over that problem or amplify it, depending on how well the economy holds up when four people are pulling the levers at once.

The developer is publishing under the banner “PR for Business Tycoon,” and press keys are available ahead of release. We’ll know soon enough whether Mall Together earns a spot next to the genre’s breakouts or ends up another storefront in an increasingly crowded corridor.
