While the copious details remain under wraps for the time being, several exciting collaborations have already surfaced. Pop icon Doja Cat will reportedly headline the event as its main villain, joining the infamous Ghostface from Scream and characters from Scooby Doo. Fans are also speculating about a tie-in with The Black Phone, based on an audio clip posted to Fortnite’s official Instagram page featuring The Grabber’s chilling dialogue.
This follows recent collaborations like the K-pop Demon Hunters crossover, which brought map changes and themed cosmetics, and it worked out really well with the community. It’s clear that Epic Games is keeping the content pipeline strong as Fortnite continues through Chapter 6 Season 4.
According to the official Fortnite Reddit account, the Fortnitemares event will include themed quests, Halloween skins, and unique limited-time modes tied to each collaboration. Teaser images shared on social media show Peely reflected in Ghostface’s knife, as well as dark, mysterious backdrops tied to each franchise.
Doja Cat’s appearance seems to be central to the event’s story, with a teaser video posted on Fortnite’s X (formerly Twitter) account hinting that she may play a supernatural antagonist in the event’s cinematic trailer, which is expected to drop within the next 24 hours.
Fortnitemares has become a yearly tradition for Fortnite players, blending pop culture, music, and horror into a highly replayable limited-time event. With Doja Cat, Ghostface, Scooby Doo, and more in the mix, 2025’s edition could be one of the most memorable yet.
