WhatsApp is stepping up its game with a cool new feature for the Chat Lock tool – Secret Codes! These nifty codes add an extra layer of secrecy by hiding private chat rooms. Here’s the deal with how it works now: Chat Lock tucks away your conversations in a separate folder, only accessible with your phone’s password or biometric login. Handy if you share your device, right? But, there’s a catch – if someone knows the password, they can peek at any time. Enter Secret Codes to the rescue!
With Secret Codes, you get a second password, totally separate from your phone unlock code. Creating this special code makes your locked folder vanish for an added layer of privacy. To bring back those hidden chats, just type in your newly created code in the search bar on the main page. And if you want to keep that locked folder right where it is, no worries, you can do that too.
Locking chats just got easier too – just long press a conversation, tap the three dots in the upper right corner, and hit Lock Chat from the drop-down menu.
And here’s the fun part – you can get creative with your password! Throw in some emojis alongside numbers, letters, and punctuation marks. Make it a four-character-long code or a single emoji – your choice. Once activated, the locked folder disappears, but you can turn off this disappearing act by toggling off Hide Locked Chats in the settings.
