Sony has quietly made a subtle adjustment to its PS5 offer, which grants new console owners in the United States the chance to claim a first-party PlayStation Studios title on an invite-only basis.
This exclusive PS5 offer, which began last month, originally stated that it was “valid only in the U.S. for eligible PSN account holders who are at least 18 years of age and purchase and activate a new PS5 console by October 20, 2023, @ 23:59pm (PDT),” according to the terms of the upgrader program.
However, some observant individuals on social media, as spotted by VGC, have noticed that the offer’s terms have been subtly altered. New PS5 console owners will now only receive the offer “by invitation only,” implying that Sony will determine eligibility based on chance.
