Google rolls out new features for Pixel phones, including improved car crash detection

Google has released a system update for Pixel smartphone owners, introducing a host of new features that enhance functionality and user experience. The update covers various aspects, including improved car crash detection, advanced recording capabilities, photography enhancements, voice options for Google Assistant, emoji wallpapers, and exciting additions to the Pixel Watch.

One notable improvement in the car crash detection feature is the inclusion of real-time location sharing with emergency contacts. In addition to contacting emergency services, Pixel smartphones will now automatically share location information during emergencies. Furthermore, Google has simplified the process of initiating emergency sharing or scheduling safety checks by incorporating voice controls.

The recording feature has received a significant upgrade, allowing users to export transcripts directly to Google Docs. Additionally, the update enables the generation of labels based on the speaker’s identity, facilitating easy retrieval of specific clips later on. Another photography enhancement is the revamped photo timer, enabling users with Pixel 6 phones or newer models to initiate self-timed photos by simply raising their palm to start a countdown.

Pixel 7 Pro owners will benefit from an update to the macro focus feature, which now supports both still photography and video recording. This enhancement allows for detailed footage of subjects like beetles climbing flowers.

Google Assistant receives a makeover with an expanded range of voice options and new language choices, enhancing the conversational experience for users. Additionally, the update brings exciting emoji wallpapers, enabling users to create unique backgrounds by combining images, patterns, and colors. Dynamic cinematic (3D) options further enrich the wallpaper selection.

Pixel Watch owners are not overlooked in this update. The new heart rate tool provides insights into the upper and lower limits of the user’s threshold. Furthermore, an auto-pause feature has been introduced, and the long-awaited blood oxygen tracker is finally available for monitoring oxygen saturation levels. While these features are currently rolling out, it may take some time before they reach all devices.

With these additions, Google aims to elevate the overall user experience for Pixel smartphone owners and provide a range of innovative features to enhance everyday life. Whether it’s improved safety measures, advanced recording capabilities, photography enhancements, or updates to the Pixel Watch, this system update brings a wealth of exciting options for users to explore and enjoy.
