The Uprising Expansion for EVE Online has been released

Uprising, the latest update for EVE Online, focuses on the intensifying war between New Eden’s main factions and provides substantial upgrades to a number of systems. EVE Online players now have access to a slew of new Navy Issue ship variations, ship emblems for player and NPC firms, a new Frontlines tool for factional warfare, and a slew of other quality-of-life and cosmetic enhancements.

For over two decades, CCP Games’ EVE Online has had a distinct position in the MMORPG industry, providing players with the opportunity to live out a second virtual existence among the stars. EVE Online is an entirely player-controlled economy in which users may mine and refine raw materials, building components, ships, and equipment, transfer goods, and even participate in piracy against other players. Because of the emergent narrative produced by player involvement, the game has grown famous over the years, with epic conflicts and merciless acts of corporate espionage that periodically make news, such as when one EVE player stole $13,000 in in-game cash.

EVE Online, like an MMO, requires substantial upgrades to keep the game fresh for its thousands of users. The new Uprising expansion includes a lot of new features and enhancements, the most notable of which is the inclusion of 16 new ships. To the frigate, battlecruiser, destroyer, and dreadnaught classes, each of the four empires has introduced a new Navy or Fleet Issue vessel. Although they seem to reskin existing ships, these new additions to the ship roster provide some welcome diversity and speciality to the mix, as well as being thematically suitable for the rising war between empires.
