According to reports, Mercedes-electric Benz’s G-Wagen will be available in mid-2024, according to company chairman Ola Källenius at a roundtable with media this week.
Källenius also said that he drove a prototype version of the electric SUV at the company’s testing site in Graz, Austria, and was persuaded that electric vehicles are the future of off-road adventure.
Mercedes did not announce any production plans when it originally revealed a concept version of the electrified SUV in September 2021. In fact, Källenius said in 2019 that he was unsure if the G-Wagen had a future at all. It seems that an electric version of the boxy off-roader is on the way.
