Like all software, smartphone operating systems are also constantly evolving. Every year, Google seeks to release a major version of their Android operating system, and this is where they introduce all the new features, UI changes, and new security protocols. Now, one thing that happens during every new OS upgrade, the OEMs choose the devices that are compatible with the new version. Now, usually, the compatibility list is uploaded on the OEM’s website where you can go and check if your device is compatible with the latest version.
Now, if there is a new version of Android released in the market, and your smartphone qualifies for the same, this is how you can check for the upgrade on your smartphone.

Open the ‘Settings‘ app on your Android smartphone.
In the settings menu, tap on the ‘About Phone option.
Tap on the Android version section in the About phone section.
Tap on the ‘Check for Update‘ button.
The smartphone will now check for an available update. If there is one available, you can tap the update now button and the process will begin. Make sure you have an active and consistent internet connection at your home or place of work, as this is absolutely necessary to check for an update and even install it.
