Blizzard has published the “Launch Gameplay Trailer” for World of Warcraft: Dragonflight, with only one week until the expansion’s release. The clip was just under two minutes long and featured some of the opening story and gameplay features that players will encounter in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight.
The pre-expansion patch for Dragonflight was published in two stages over the previous few weeks. The first phase, which included a reworked user interface, a new talent tree system, and balancing modifications for all classes and specialisations to review and configure, was published on October 25. Last week, the second phase released a slew of stuff to keep users occupied. Players may participate in the Primal Storms event, and those who have previously purchased Dragonflight can create and play as a Dracthyr Evoker, the expansion’s new hero class.
The new Dragonflight teaser introduces players to one of the key hazards they will encounter in the expansion right away. The opening minute of the teaser featured bits from the in-game sequence “A Tempest Unleashed,” which stars Kalecgos, the leader of the Blue Dragonflight. Kalecgos is depicted notifying his old ally, Archmage Khadgar, about Raszageth the Storm’s return. Eater’s Dracthyr Evokers who completed their introductory tasks saw Raszageth’s liberation from her underground captivity, which Kalecgos relates to Khadgar after hearing both Wrathion and Alexstrasza’s testimony. Khadgar vows to Kalecgos that the mortal champions of Azeroth will heed the call of the Life-Binder and support her in her endeavours when Alexstrasza swears to reforge the Aspects’ abilities that were lost at the end of the Cataclysm expansion.
The second part of the film features gameplay footage of players tackling the several new dungeons in the Dragon Isles, new factions with which players may align and gain fame, and the impending Vault of the Incarnates raid, where players will fight Raszageth as the final monster. The new talent trees and Dracthyr Evoker were also shown, while the words of Nozdormu, commander of the Bronze Dragonflight, echoed across the teaser, encouraging players to forge their own destiny on the Dragon Isles. Blizzard closed the trailer by announcing that preorders for Dragonflight are now available and include immediate access to the Dracthyr Evoker.
Twitch Drops were introduced for the first time in World of Warcraft history as part of the build-up to Dragonflight. Beginning next week, players will be able to get the Feldrake mount as a Twitch Drop by viewing at least four hours of Dragonflight content on any participating channel. With only a few days until the expansion’s release, Blizzard has made no attempt to entice players to return to Azeroth after a difficult few years. It is up to the participants to decide whether or not their efforts will produce fruit.
World of Warcraft is now accessible on PC. Dragonflight will be available on November 28th.
