Apple fans who have been waiting for a 27-inch iMac running Apple M-Series processors may not like this news, as there are reports coming out of Apple that they have seemingly abandoned the 27-inch M-series project. This adds more fuel to the rumours that the tech giant will be retiring the 27-inch iMac and push users to go for aa 27-inch Studio Display and pair it with either a Mac Studio or a Mac Mini, which will be powered by M-Series chipsets.
The 27-inch iMac will go down as one of the most successful, powerful, and versatile computers that has come from the Apple brand. The Intel powered monster allowed users to add a host of peripherals and even a discrete graphics card, and create something of a special workstation, but when it comes to the newer M-Series chipset, the versatility is yet to be determined.
The 24-inch iMac is the one that will be taken forward, while the bigger sibling will be retired and replaced with the Studio Display + Mac Studio/Mac Mini.
If you are someone who was waiting for the 27-inch imac to get an upgrade, we suggest thjat you move on to the 24-inch model, or go for the new generation MacBooks instead. If you are looking for a desktop, you have two options – You can either go for the afrementioned combo or go for a Windows Desktop, which is still customisable like it was in the past. The choice is yours.
Don’t get us wrong, the Mac Studio and Mac Mini devices are very very capable, but you just cannot take away from the fact that the singular package that the iMac offers is second to none.
