Volkswagen is gearing up to release its next-generation Tiguan SUV, and the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant is set to impress with an impressive all-electric range. The automaker has shared initial details about the upcoming model, revealing that the PHEV Tiguan will offer up to 62 miles of electric-only driving. This range is double that of the existing Tiguan eHybrid and significantly surpasses the 37.5 miles of Toyota’s Prius Prime. With such extensive electric range, drivers may find themselves relying on the combustion engine only during long-distance trips.
