US court orders Github to disclose identity of user who leaked Twitter source code

The US District Court for the Northern District of California has ordered Github to reveal the identity of a user who posted a portion of Twitter’s source code on its platform under the username “FreeSpeech Enthusiast”. Twitter suspects that the individual may be a disgruntled former employee, and the information provided by Github could help the company determine if one of the thousands of workers laid off after Elon Musk’s purchase of the company last year is responsible. The subpoena also asks Github to identify any users who may have posted, uploaded, downloaded, or modified the data. Github has until April 3 to comply with the order.
