Ubisoft Fans Will Be Excited by a New Steam Leak

A new leak related to Valve’s Steam platform on PC might be extremely good news for lovers of Ubisoft titles. For a long time, Ubisoft exclusively made its own titles accessible on PC through its Ubisoft Connect portal. And, despite repeated requests from fans, Ubisoft has refused to release several of its more recent games on Steam. Fortunately, it seems that this may be changing in the near future.

A new entry for a future game surfaced recently on SteamDB, a website that records backend processes with Steam. Although the name of the game in question was not made public, a closer check of its metadata showed that it may be Roller Champions. Roller Champions, for those who are unfamiliar, is a free-to-play multiplayer sports game developed by Ubisoft. Essentially, this entry implies that Roller Champions will be available on Steam at some point, but Ubisoft has yet to confirm this.

While this revelation is interesting on its own, it is more significant since it suggests that Ubisoft may be contemplating a major comeback to Steam. If Roller Champions is one title coming to the platform, there’s a potential that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Far Cry 6, and a slew of others will follow.

For the time being, it’s best to take everything with a grain of salt. Not only has Ubisoft not declared that Roller Champions would be available on Steam, but even if it has, it is not a guarantee that a number of other games from the publisher will also be available on the Valve marketplace. Still, there’s enough information in this leak to suggest that Ubisoft will be doing more in the future.
