Twitter reportedly lays off Product Manager Esther Crawford

Twitter has reportedly laid off dozens of employees over the weekend, according to The Information. The number of affected staffers is estimated to be around 50, although Platformer’s Zoë Schiffer suggests that the number could be much higher.

Notably, among those let go was product manager Esther Crawford, who was responsible for leading the company’s Twitter Blue redesign and overseeing the development of its upcoming payments platform. Crawford was also recognized as one of the most visible members of “Twitter 2.0,” next to Elon Musk.

The company has previously undergone three rounds of layoffs, the most recent of which was in 2020. Twitter has yet to comment on the recent layoffs, and Musk has not addressed the issue on his Twitter account. Twitter’s revenue has been reportedly down 40 percent YoY, as of January.
