OnePlus Set to Release its First Foldable Smartphone in 2023

OnePlus is having a busy Mobile World Congress. In addition to presenting its newest experimental phone, which will feature liquid cooling capabilities, the business has revealed that it would deliver its first foldable smartphone in the second half of 2023. With this announcement, OnePlus has verified prior speculations that it is working on a foldable smartphone comparable to those offered by Samsung. During the OnePlus 11 presentation earlier this month, the firm teased a cryptic Q3 2023 launch with what seemed to be shadows of devices that fold in the backdrop, but it did not reveal what it would be launching.

OnePlus, despite its announcement, has been tight-lipped on what a foldable device from the company would involve. In January, XDA Developers discovered two trademark entries with the China National Intellectual Property Administration for a OnePlus V Fold and a OnePlus V Flip. OnePlus only mentions one smartphone in today’s announcement, so it’s unclear whether the company is currently working on two. All OnePlus President and COO Kinder Liu had to say during the occasion was:

“Our first foldable phone will feature the speedy and smooth OnePlus experience. In terms of industrial design, mechanical technology, and other things, it must be a flagship phone that does not settle due of its folding shape. We want to offer a product that will provide the ultimate experience in today’s foldable market.”

Further information regarding the foldable tablet will be released in the following months, according to the business. Apart from that, it revealed ambitions to create a more unified environment over the next three to five years. The ecosystem, according to the company, would allow OnePlus to deliver seamless connectivity across its phones, tablets, wearables, and internet-of-things devices.
