The Sims 4 High School Years update includes a ‘virtual thrift store’ built by Depop

Clothing from the fashion marketplace Depop will be available later this month in the High School Years expansion pack for The Sims 4. (via Polygon). Depop promotes itself as a “circular” and “community-powered” online resale site and app that allows users to buy and sell vintage apparel items at reasonable prices.

The Sims characters in the expansion pack will go through “the rollercoaster of puberty,” complete with prom, school pranks, and the option to skip class.

Teenage Sims can now become fashion “Simfluencers” and earn Simoleons, the game’s in-app cash, by utilizing Trendi, a similar app to Depop. The Simfluencer will be able to buy their stuff from Thriftea, an in-game secondhand store, and curate their own clothes to set trends.

Real-life Depop sellers including Lapoze McTribouy (@judaku), Sha’an d’Anthes (@furrylittlepeach), and Selena Williams (@selenasshop) will design the outfits featured in the game, bringing in varied styles influenced by their shops.

The Sims 4 High School Years will be released on Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, and EA Origin on Thursday, July 28th.
