The Motorola Razr teaser confirms the device’s chinless design and dual camera array for 2022

Motorola teased its upcoming Razr in a new trailer, which reveals the device’s chin-less redesign. The trailer, which Motorola shared on Weibo, shows the third-generation device’s smoothed edges, dual camera, new hinge, and what appears to be a larger exterior display, which corresponds to a leaked version of the device we saw in May.

Apart from the Motorola logo stamped on one of its edges and on the back of the device, the trailer doesn’t reveal much. At an in-person event, Chen Jin, the general manager of Lenovo Business Group in China, provided a separate look at the device (and with much better lighting). He shared the photos on Weibo and demonstrated what the upcoming Razr will look like when opened and folded shut, confirming previous leaks.

Motorola confirmed that the device will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor, but little else is known. Previous rumors suggest it will have a 6.7-inch FHD Plus OLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. It’s also rumored to have a 50MP f/1.8 main camera and a 32MP ultrawide camera on the outside, as well as a 13MP selfie camera on the inside.

However, new images of the upcoming device show a boxier design that strongly suggests Motorola is taking design cues from the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 — a foldable that was more well-received than Motorola’s first two attempts at revamping the classic Razr.

Motorola has yet to reveal any details about the device’s release date or pricing. Back in May, reliable leaker Evan Blass stated that the next-generation Razr will be available in China in late July or early August, but will not be available in the rest of the world until later.
