Tesla confirms that production of the Cybertruck will begin this year

The Cybertruck boasts an electric range of up to 500 miles, a maximum towing capacity of 14,000 pounds, and a starting price of less than $40,000. Buyers will, however, have to pay an extra $15,000 for Tesla’s driver assistance system Full Self-Driving. Musk said on November 24, 2019, that Tesla received at least 187,000 orders for the Cybertruck only five days after it was presented.

Despite the delays, Franz von Holzhausen, the Cybertruck’s primary vehicle designer, has declared that the vehicle’s design is complete. He also demonstrated several new Cybertruck features, such as front doors comparable to the Model X premium SUV. Sensors in the doors will detect the presence of a key fob, enabling the driver to lock and unlock the car without using the key fob. Von Holzhausen also said that the Cybertruck would be available with a yoke steering wheel, which he believes will give a “wonderful driving experience” as well as a “simpler and cleaner” interior cockpit.
