SwiftKey for iOS will be discontinued by Microsoft the next week

Microsoft has announced that SwiftKey will be removed from the Apple App Store and support for the iOS version of the keyboard app will expire on October 5th. If you’ve previously downloaded SwiftKey on your iPhone, it will remain accessible as long as you don’t remove it.

“Microsoft will continue support for SwiftKey Android as well as the underlying technology that powers the Windows touch keyboard,” Chris Wolfe, the director of product management at SwiftKey, said.

SwiftKey will be discontinued on iOS after months of customer concerns that seem to have gone unaddressed. Furthermore, people discovered that Microsoft hasn’t updated the SwiftKey app for iOS in over a year, raising concerns that the software has been secretly abandoned.

It is unknown why Microsoft has chosen to discontinue support for iPhones. SwiftKey has been accessible on iOS since 2014, two years prior to Microsoft’s acquisition of the app. SwiftKey will continue to be accessible and fully supported on Android, and Microsoft will continue to provide frequent upgrades.
