Although it may seem strange for a modding team to declare a release timetable that is still two years away, it does establish reasonable expectations within the Elder Scrolls community about what the volunteer team is capable of. If anything, the Skyblivion team’s ability to identify its own limits and talents is promising. If TESRenewal says it can provide Skyblivion by 2025, it must be confident in its abilities.
While it’s fair that fans are sceptical of the development pace, modifications sometimes take a long time to complete. Skyblivion is an extreme example, but it is not the only one. It’s vital to realise the time and work that goes into producing a mod of this magnitude, and the end result, based on the photos and clips given, is promising. While 2025 may seem far away, the TESRenewal crew will ideally keep fans up to speed on work and new peeks at the Oblivion-meets-Skyrim project.
