Release of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is reportedly being postponed once again

Warner Bros. is the publisher. According to a recent insider rumour, Interactive has once again delayed Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Although this report has yet to be officially validated, it comes from the same source who previously stated that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will be released in 2023.

At this time, DC Comics has been promising a Suicide Squad game for over 15 years, while its parent company first hinted at it after Batman: Arkham Origins, a 2013 action adventure created by WB Games Montreal. Rocksteady Studios unveiled Suicide Squad: Destroy the Justice League four years after the project was purportedly terminated in 2016.

WB Games has delayed the forthcoming Suicide Squad game again, according to Bloomberg, citing a source familiar with the situation. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will be released on May 26th, according to the publisher. Given that Warner Bros. does not seem to have established a new release date objective internally as of March 9, this fresh delay will supposedly see the game arrive later in 2023, likely in its second half. The delay is expected to become public soon after that since delaying a previously stated release without a new date thus close to debut would be unpopular with fans.

The major reason for this internal delay is said to be fan anger. After Sony’s February State of Play show, which revealed Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League DLC plans, many players rushed to social media to condemn the game’s apparent aggressive commercialization and always-online need. The fact that this newly announced delay has yet to be accompanied by a new release date goal raises the possibility that some of those contentious components may be altered, implying that Rocksteady is now investigating how long that would take.

Despite the public outrage after the game’s February reveal, some DC fans have high expectations for Rocksteady Studios’ next project. Not least because Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League features Kevin Conroy’s Batman, establishing a place in history as the iconic voice actor’s last portrayal of this character, who died in November 2022 at the age of 66. His remarkable career has featured several collaborations with game creators, going back to The Adventures of Batman & Robin, a Sega CD action-platformer series released in 1994.
