Hey Pixel fans, some cool new features are coming to the Pixel 8 Pro thanks to Google’s new AI called Gemini.
First up is Summarize for the Recorder app. It uses Gemini Nano to automatically create summaries of your audio recordings by pulling out the main points. Handy if you record long meetings or lectures.
There’s also Smart Reply in Gboard that suggests responses to texts based on context. It’s only in developer preview for WhatsApp right now though.
A few camera upgrades are coming too, powered by AI. Video Boost will process your clips to adjust lighting and colors. Night Sight reduces noise in low light videos. And there’s a new timelapse mode.
Portrait Lighting now has a Balance setting to improve shadows. And Photo Unblur got better at sharpening pics of pets.
Some other highlights: Repair Mode locks down your data when sending your phone for repairs. The Camera app can remove smudges from scanned docs. And Call Screen will suggest replies when you can’t answer the phone.
So in a nutshell, some nifty AI-powered features to boost productivity and camera performance. Though some are still in preview.
